Career Services and Professional Development Center
The Career Services and Professional Development Center (CSPDC) assists students in identifying and obtaining employment following graduation. CSPDC staff will work with students on a case by case basis to identify career opportunities which draw on their individuals strengths, interests, and the academic talents. CSPDC offers a variety of services for AUBiH students and alumni, including:
- Curriculum vitae (CV) and cover letter composition and advice
- Individual counseling sessions to assist students in identifying their professional interests and aspirations
- Mock interview and etiquette training
- Access to SUNY-Canton's job and internship search engine
- On-campus recruiting from BiH and international companies and organizations
- Assistance in preparing graduate school applications
Co-op Education Program
The Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) at AUBiH allows students to make the most of their studies through enhancing their academic experiences with practical professional opportunities. Students who choose to do so may obtain paid internships while studying at AUBiH. All AUBiH students are required to complete four years of study amounting to twelve academic sections comprising 240 ECTS points as stated in the Bologna Declaration.
You may opt to participate in the co-op program during your third or fourth year of study. The university has agreements with many different companies which accommodate AUBiH students. You may choose to work for one of these companies or to pursue your own co-op agreement with a company with which the university has not previously worked. Co-op agreements are possible both within BiH and abroad. AUBiH encourages students to participate in the co-op program because of the benefits of direct professional experience. Graduates who have participated in the co-op program have a clearer sense of their future professional goals and are better prepared for the transition from university to the workplace.
Students are not required to pay AUBiH tuition when they are employed in the co-op program. Co-op participants either earn a full-time salary from their employer or a stipend in the case of an internship.
