Academic System Support

Faculty has access to multimedia labs and a wireless network on each of the three AUBiH campuses. In cooperation with Google, AUBiH provides free email accounts with over 7GB of free storage space for all students and faculty.

PEARSON COURSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The Pearson eCollege Course Management System (CMS) is a highly intuitive course authoring and delivery environment loaded with efficient tools that support a wide variety of interaction and assessment techniques and academic content.

The holdings of the AUBiH library reflect and respond to specific bibliographies which supplement the courses offered. Students and faculty have access to local and university libraries in BiH.

IT and Support Services

Computer and Internet Access

Computer Labs are located across several locations and provide students with laptop computers, internet access, print and scan facilities, in-person staff assistance and free basic IT support. Computers are preinstalled with variety of education related software. Students can browse the web on AUBiH computers or on personal computers and smart phones by connecting to the University wireless network. Internet access is provided free of charge for all students.

Google Apps Services for AUBiH

AUBiH in partnership with Google offers variety of online services for students and teaching staff. Some of those services are:

Email is a web and desktop based e-mail service that allows users to use e-mail using Google’s "Gmail" systems. It provides the capability to access inbox from a supported web browser and desktop applications, read mail, compose, reply to, and forward mail, search mail, and manage mail through labels. Gmail provides 7GB of disk space per user.

"Calendar" is a web-based service for managing personal, and team calendars. It provides an interface for users to view their calendars, schedule meetings with other users, see availability information for other users, and schedule rooms and resources.

"Google Groups" is a web-based service that allows users to create and manage groups. Users can have email discussions and share documents, calendars, sites and folders with the members of a group. They also have the ability to view and search group discussion archives.

"Google Talk" provides the ability for real time communication between users through instant messaging. It additionally provides the ability for one-to-one communication via video and voice. Google Talk is integrated into the Gmail web interface, and also has an XMPP programmatic interface.

"Google Docs" provides web-based tools for creating and collaborating on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Users can create these documents through a web browser or upload documents from other supported systems, and can share documents with other students or professors to jointly collaborate and edit.

"Google Sites" allows users to create websites to publish them internally or externally. User can create a site through a web-based tool, and then can share the site with a group of other users or publish the site to the entire university or the world. The site owner can choose who can edit a site and who can view the site.

"Google Contacts" allows Users to import, store and view contact information, and create personal groups of contacts that can be used to email many people at once.
