Dr. Caryn Voskuil, AUBiH Professor, and AUBiH PR Director Merima Spahić took part in the Radio Kameleon show “Udri muški” (Strike Hard) on January 11th, 2010. During the show, AUBiH’s membership in the Open Network was announced. AUBiH recently donated 10,000 KM to the Open Network project which will be used to provide medical treatment for children facing terminal diseases. The donation was made on behalf of the professors, staff, and students of AUBiH.

On the occasion of the upcoming holidays, the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a party for guests from the United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, AUBiH faculty members and Fulbright scholars. Deputy Chief of Mission Jonathan Moore addressed the guests at the party, which was organized in Sarajevo on December 21, 2009. Moore extended season’s greetings to the management of AUBiH and wished them luck in their work.

Be the Change, Make a Difference!

AUBiH students, faculty, and staff attended a lecture given by Svetlana Broz, Executive Director of the NGO Gariwo, on Monday, November 30th at AUBiH’s Tuzla campus. Ms. Broz presented her NGO’s work and encouraged AUBiH students apply methods of civil courage in their everyday lives. Her lecture called on young people to stand up to negative authorities and affect positive change through non-violent resistance.

Students Day

Yesterday a get-together event for the professors, students, staff members and AUBiH friends was organized at Slana Banja.
The AUBiH Student Day barbecue has already become traditional, and the students find it one of their most favorite extracurricular activities. In addition to the barbecue and music, basketball and football tournaments were organized.
Of the seven teams including AUBiH Tuzla and Sarajevo students at the basketball tournament, the most successful team members were Mauro Pilavdžić, Melis Šarić, Edo Bakalović and Ivan Milojević. Of the three football teams, the following were the winning team members: Semir Handžić, Nedžad Goletić, Damir Dedić, Adnan Kapidžić, Asmir Smajlović and Esmir Jahić.
