Admission Policy

General Admission Requirements

As we receive student applications from all over the world, AUBiH’s admission requirements are flexible enough to account for differences in secondary school educational systems. Applicants are asked to follow one of the following admission options.

  • Present documents proving successful completion of secondary school in BiH.
  • Adhere to the admission standards of universities in the US: submission of a completed secondary school transcript and SAT I or ACT scores.
  • Complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) and submit academic transcripts and final IB grades. Applicants who have not completed all of their IB exams should send their latest transcripts and predicted IB scores to the University. If admitted, the Office of Admissions will ask applicants to forward their final IB results as they become available.
  • Meet the university entrance requirements for the country of your secondary school diploma. (Contact the Admissions Office for additional information.)

Transfer Students

Students may be considered for transfer to AUBiH, upon completion of at least one year in good academic standing at an accredited college or university. AUBiH may award transfer credits for courses taken at the university level. To be considered for admission and to have your credits evaluated for transfer, you must submit the following documents in addition to the regular application:

  • Official transcript(s) sent directly from the colleges/universities where the courses were taken
  • Detailed syllabi and course descriptions from the colleges/universities for each course

Please note: Transcripts from non-U.S.-accredited universities must be submitted to World Education Services for evaluation before an admissions decision can be made.

Visiting/Study Abroad Students

Students who wish to spend one or two semesters at AUBiH before returning to their home universities are welcome to apply as visiting students. Admissions decisions for visiting students are based on current academic records. To be considered for admission on a visiting basis, you must complete an application and ask your university registrar’s office to forward your official transcript to AUBiH. Applications from visiting students are only considered for study on full-time basis.
